Sharing Hope With Others

Elizabeth Bell’s Story

Written by: Elizabeth Bell

My name is Elizabeth Bell. I am 26 years old, mother of 2 girls aged 2 & 3. Here is how my cancer journey began. At age 20, I had a spot on my face. It turned out to be pre-staged melanoma. Five years later at age 25, I had a spot on my face. It turned out to be pre-staged melanoma. Five years later at age 25, I have a knot come up on my back. My dermatologist felt concerned, so she sent me to the general surgeon. Dr. Adams removed the knot in January of 2019. The report came back as Melanoma, so I was told that I needed further testing. I got a pet/CT scan done on February 14, 2019. That report showed a spot on my right inner thigh. Therefore, in March I had to have another surgery to remove the Melanoma. That was the worst pain I have ever gone through. I started immunotherapy around May. It made me feel tired, nauseous, achy, and I did not have much of an appetite. I am still in immunotherapy, but my body has gotten used to it, so my side effects are slim to none.

My journey has some good days and some bad ones. I am blessed to be here today to share my story with the world. I want to be able to share hope of my journey with others.

Summit Quest has been a good help to my family. My girls enjoyed the Tellus Science Museum the most. Summit Quest has been there for us throughout my journey. They have given my family gift cards to help us out financially. I really appreciate the help they offer. Without Summit Quest’s help, I would not have been able to succeed. I appreciate all they do for us. This is my story, and I hope it helps someone.

My journey has some good days and some bad ones. I am blessed to be here today to share my story with the world. I want to be able to share hope of my journey with others.
